The Many Denominational Churches
Ephesians 4:4-6 says, "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all...". How many Gods are there? There is only one God, even though there are many false gods in the world. How many Lords are there? There is only one Lord, even though there have been many men, down through the ages, who have made the claim that they were Jesus Christ.
How many faiths are there? According to the Bible, there is only one faith, even though there are more than 600 different denominational false faiths that men have started. You hear people say, "Attend the faith of your choice". But God only has one faith that He recognizes.
What is the one body that is mentioned above? Ephesians 1:22-23 says that Christ is the "head over all things to the church, which is His body". But the Bible says there is only one body, and this one body is the Lord’s one church. There is no room in the New Testament for all these conflicting faiths and denominations. All around us we see all the religious divisions and all the differing doctrines, which are not of God. The Bible recognizes only one faith and one church and not the many different denominational faiths and churches which men have established. Jesus says, "And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men" (Mark 7:7).
None of the multiplicity of differing denominations, which exist today have the approval of God and are not mentioned in His word, the Bible. Today there are new denominations that are regularly being established by men. None of the many denominations have any scriptural right to exist. This can be known by comparing what they teach and practice with the instructions, which God has given in the New Testament.
What do you think God thinks of this mess? On Judgment Day all those in the many counterfeit denominational churches will be horrified when they are told by the Lord to depart. Jesus says, "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" Why will these many people be eternally lost? When Jesus tells these many people, who haven’t done the will of the Father but the will of man, to depart, this will be the worse thing that will ever be said to an individual. But these many people called Jesus, "Lord, Lord" but they hadn’t done the will of the Father, but they had done the will of men. These many people, who call Jesus, "Lord, Lord," and who are lost will only have themselves to blame when they are cast into the burning fires of a real Hell.
