Are We All Headed For The Same Place?
By Ron Boatwright

We have all heard the statement made by people that "We are all headed for the same place, but we are just going different ways".  This is only wishful thinking.  This is what Satan wants us to believe.  Jesus says, "Enter by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:13-14).

According to the Bible we are not all headed for the same place, but we are all headed for either one of two different places: Heaven or Hell.  According to Jesus the vast majority are headed for Hell, "into everlasting punishment" (Matthew 25:46) where they "will be cast into outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 8:12).  Many people don’t believe this, but one day they will.  Only few people will be going to Heaven, "into eternal life" (Matthew 25:46) where they "will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away" (1 Peter 5:4).

We actually make the choice as to which of these two places we will go to in eternity.  God’s word says, "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15).  The many who end up in the eternal torments of Hell will only have themselves to blame, because they chose to go there.  There will be many surprised people on Judgment Day when they find out that we are not all headed for the same place.  Let’s make sure we are among the few who go to Heaven.
