Denominationalism (Part 2)
By Ron Boatwright

A person who was baptized for the forgiveness of his sins so he could be saved (Mark 16:16), it is then the Lord adds him to His one true church (Acts 2:47), the church of Christ where he is to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).  The Lord only has one true blood-bought church (Acts 20:28) of which He is going to save.  All of the denominations are fakes and counterfeits, which are designed by Satan to cause people to lose their souls in Hell.  But there are those who were once faithful members of the Lord’s one true church who later join a denomination.  Can a Christian, a member of the Lord’s one true church later become a member of a denomination and be faithful to the Lord and go to Heaven?  Let’s see what the Bible says.

Members of the Lord’s church who join a denomination “have condemnation because they have cast off their first faith” (1 Timothy 5:12).  “They have forsaken the right way and gone astray” (2 Peter 2:15).  God’s word says, “Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it” (Psalms 127:1).  A lot of people are laboring in vain in their denominational churches.  Jesus says, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted” (Matthew 15:13) and “In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9).  It is vain and sinful to worship in a denominational church.  God’s word says, “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord…and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17).  A member of the Lord’s church who has gone into a denomination must repent and come out of it and be a faithful member of the Lord’s church if he expects to go to Heaven.
