"THE SON"

He prayed in the Garden in great agony.
He plead, "Let this cup pass from me."

But the Father decreed
It could not be.
The Son’s blood must be
Shed for you and for me.

So, as the obedient Son,
Our Lord would finally come
To that cross, that death
There on the tree.

In great agony He died,
And as He died, He cried,
"Father, forgive them.
They know not what they do."

Even in His great pain,
He was once again
Forgiving all that was done.

Remembering still, why He came.
To be the Lamb that was slain.

He gave all He had
To redeem sinful man
Yet man still rejects
His blood-brought plan.

How sad, how sad.
