Congo Squares

 
bullet2 sticks margarine, melted
bullet1 lb. light brown sugar
bullet3 eggs
bullet2  1/3 cups plain flour
bullet2  1/2 tsp. baking powder
bullet1 tsp. vanilla
bullet1/2 tsp. salt
bullet1  8 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
bullet1 cup chopped pecans
bulletMix margarine and light brown sugar (Use a spoon, NOT a mixer)
bulletStir in slightly beaten eggs and vanilla.
bulletIn another bowl, mix dry ingredients.
bulletStir half of dry mix in wet mix. 
bulletIn remaining dry mix, coat chocolate chips and nuts, then pour in wet mix.
bulletSpray a 9x13 pan and pour in mix.
bulletBake at 325º for 30-35 minutes.
bulletCut when completely cooled.
