Baked Chicken & Rice

 

bullet1 cup uncooked rice
bullet1 can cream of mushroom sop
bullet1 can cream of celery soup
bullet1 envelope onion soup mix
bullet1 soup can of cold water
bullet1 garlic clove, crushed
bullet1 tsp. chopped parsley
bullet1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
bullet1 chicken (3 1/2 to 4 pounds) cut into about 8 pieces
bulletpaprika for sprinkling
bulletPreheat oven to 350 degrees
bulletLightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan
bulletIn a large bowl, mix the rice, three soups, water, garlic, parsley and Worcestershire sauce
bulletPour the mixture into the baking pan
bulletPress the chicken into the mixture
bulletSprinkle paprika over the top
bulletCover lightly with aluminum foil
bulletBake for 2 1/2 hours
bulletDO NOT open during baking
bulletThis is a very good dish -- the chicken is wonderfully tender, and you don't have to check on it as it's baking.
