bulletComment: My mother-in-law, Granny Spradley, fixed this when my husband and I first married, in the 1930's, with their farm-raised beef.  She prepared it before church and it cooked on the wood stove while they went
to church in the wagon.  When they (and any company they had) returned,
this dish was cooked perfectly.  I have fixed it this way for the last 60
years for my family & friends;  my children fix it the same way, except
that we all have modern ranges now.  It still tastes good...and is really
good with home-made buttermilk biscuits!  Anna Belle Spradley sent this
recipe in to an old-timer's publication before she went into the nursing
home.  If you try it and like it, I know she would love to hear from you
(she would love to hear from you in any instance) Most of you probably
know her...she is the daughter of one of our beloved preachers of
yesteryear, Brother James R. Stewart.  Her address is:  Anna Belle
Spradley, 5727 South Ross, Room 123, Oklahoma City, OK 73119
