Magombwa Church Meeting
Thyolo District, Malawi
My participation in the Magombwa congregation’s meeting took place on Friday, November 22, 2002. The church building is located 65 kilometers south of the city of Blantyre in Thyolo District in the area of the tea, coffee and macadamia nut estates. According to the usual practice of most congregations in Malawi, a grass arbor was constructed outside the regular building in order to accommodate the crowds. Even though the 22nd was payday for people who work on the estates, we still had very good attendance.
Lately, there has been a lot of visiting among villagers by some who are working very diligently trying to convince people that they are the witnesses of God. These visitors have a unique doctrine concerning God’s kingdom which is not like that taught by anyone else. So, our subject today was “The Kingdom of God.” We opened up the Bible and considered exactly what God wants the world to know about the “Kingdom of God.” We could have never asked for better attention!
Davidson Kasambwe did a remarkable job of translating. Davidson not only can translate your words, he is able to put your emphasis into them as well.
