Semani Church of Christ
Zomba District
Sunday, June 9, 2002

This is a photo of brethren who attended a special meeting conducted at the Semani Church in the Zomba District, Sunday, June 9, 2002.  What made this a special meeting was that this congregation had been associated with another group of the Church of Christ who believe the use of multiple cups, fermented wine and leavened bread are acceptable elements to be used in the observance of the Lord's Supper.  One of our preachers, Brother D. B. Muhotiwa, had been studying with the leaders of this congregation about these issues and convinced them that they were unscriptural. I was invited to attend this meeting by the Semani brethren through Brother Muhotiwa.  When the invitation was extended at the conclusion of the lesson, 77 members of the Semani congregation came forward and made their confessions for having being engaged in unscriptural worship.  We rejoice to have these brethren numbered with those of us who are faithful to conduct the Lord's Supper just as He instituted it, and asked us to do.  Jim Franklin
