Two work days are planned before the Sulphur, Oklahoma, meeting this year! We need all the help we can get on June 16th and June 23rd to open the tabernacle and prepare for the meeting. There is a lot of work that needs to be done. Please come when you can during these times.

       1st Saturday...June 16th ...from 8:00am to 5:00pm

       2nd Saturday...June 23rd ...from 9:00am to 5:00pm

Please email us and let us know that you plan to come so we can make better plans.

Lunch will be served about noon for all the workers. If anyone wants to help with this, please also let us know :-)

Just for fun...
Texas wants to challenge Oklahoma with a decorative live plant/flower small garden arrangement... Oklahoma will get half of the garden space in front of the restrooms (about 2'x5') and Texas will get the other 2'x5'. The ground is very hard and last year Jon Roodschild attempted to make a few holes in the ground to place container plants at about ground level. Then we put tree bark around them, and it looked very nice. (The potted plants were removed after the meeting.) The only rules are that everything must fit inside your allotted area, nothing can be attached to the building (touch it, yes; attach it, no), and it must be safe for children to be around. If you want to volunteer and get a group together for your state, please let us know as soon as you can. If other states want to get in on the fun, please let us know ASAP and we will find a spot for you also. Contact David Risener by email gospel@nt-c.org or call 817-710-4291.

Financial Volunteers...
We estimate that the clean-up and maintenance cost will be around $750 this year. If you can not do the physical labor needed on these dates, but would like to help us with the cost of refurbishing/maintaining the tabernacle... we could really use your financial help, if possible. If you can help with these expenses, please let David Risener know by email gospel@nt-c.org or call 817-710-4291.

Possible extras (if time and additional money permit)...
Extras (please consider)... If someone wants to purchase a window air conditioner for either the ladies' or men's restrooms, both are in need of new units.

Come whenever you can on the 16th... some of us hope to start working around 8:00am. The sisters will serve hotdogs at noon, and then we will try to finish up by 5:00pm. The Saturday of the 23rd will be for odds and ends we do not complete on the 16th.

The following is our work list for the 16th :
(The closed tabernacle will be fogged for insects on Thursday before we open it Saturday.)

1.    Two liftable doors need to be reinforced/repaired and other liftable doors need to be inspected, lifted, and secured in the open position.
2.    Remove benches to outside area, inspect and repair as needed. (Replace at end of workday.)
3.    Use special fiber/high strength concrete to fill cracks in concrete floor.
4.    The bathrooms were painted last year, but need touch-up.
5.    Plumbing needs to be checked out and repaired/updated, if necessary.
6.    The alleyway and grounds need gravel. (We must do this every year.)
7.    Check fans for proper functioning.
8.    Check out the P.A. system to see if it needs any repairs, etc.
9.    Run a pvc water line to the front of the tabernacle and install two water faucets.
10.  If time and money permit, we will spray paint (white-wash/touch-up) some building areas.
11.  If an Oklahoma brother who is an electrician can volunteer, and funds permit, it would be wonderful to have a new breaker box replace the old one :-)

On the 23rd we will attempt to complete all that we were unable to do on the 16th and then...

1.    Thoroughly clean and disinfect the restrooms. Fill all toilet tissue holders, paper towel holders, and put a supply of each under the sinks. ( Need 2 volunteers to assist the host preachers in maintaining each restroom during the meeting.)
2.    Remove benches to outside area and wash thoroughly (top and bottom to get pesky spiders). Dry seats to further insure that they are clean.
3.    Sweep tabernacle floor, then hose it down completely.
4.    Clean the storage room.
5 .   Wash down and dry the speakers’ stand & communion table.
6.    When the floor is ready, all the benches must be carried back inside and placed in position.
7.    Wipe down outside lighting (above the doors and on the East side) and put in place. Replace any bulbs as needed.
8.    Final test on speaker system.

Anyone who wants to volunteer to do a specific job/s, please let us know, and we will try to assign that to you. There are plenty of jobs for everyone!

Thank you all,
