This company has offered some really good rates for families and groups. Following is a list of the rates:

 

1 bedroom suite            $89

2 bedroom suite            $99

Trio suite                      $119
  


 
 

The best deal is the 2-bedroom suite. It is great for a family because it includes bedrooms and private baths plus a kitchen and living room (couch makes a bed).

 

It is also great for more than one couple. The kitchen and living room are between the two bedrooms, each with its own private bath, allowing for complete privacy.

 

The couch in the 1-bedroom suite also makes a bed.

 

This facility is located about two miles north of the Irving Arts Center. Going south on MacArthur is under heavy construction, so this facility offers easy access.

Other motels are available in the area, but they are not really offering good deals this year. What each has told me is that prices have increased significantly, and they are experiencing more bookings than they did last year.

Other motels include Staybridge, LaQuinta, and Holiday Inn Express—of course, there are many more along Airport Freeway and some along 114.

Staybridge is charging $89.99 for a studio and $109.99 for a one-bedroom King with couch. Ask for Mindy or Christie. That is up from $59 and $69 last year. The number is 972-465-9400.

LaQuinta is charging $79 for two double beds, so you could save a little here. The king is $89. These rooms will be held only until August 21; ask for Sarah. Number is 972-252-6546. Last year, these were $59 and $79.

Holiday Inn would not give a blocking without a credit card, but the sales coordinator would not offer a good deal anyway. Even with a credit card as security, she would offer only $89 for a single or double arrangement. No credit card was given, so this price will be not offered when you call. The number is 972-261-4900.

If you want cheaper rates, check with Expedia or Orbitz. You can sometimes get significantly better rates.

A note about MacArthur going south from the Irving Arts Center. It is open, but it is under construction. You can get through, but travel will be slower than usual because of the closed lanes.
